Do people really watch soap opera these days? I don’t know anyone of my peers that are interested or even has time to watch soap operas. My grandmother is really the only one I know that still watches them and two of her favorite shows have recently ended. Sometimes I feel that Facebook is its own soap opera because some people can be so dramatic, share every aspect of their lives, and while we might criticize those people, we still turn on our computers or smart phones to see what’s new in the world of Facebook.
I guess it is safe to say that people are creating their own soap operas. With fun online games that are always changing and you can start where you left off each day, people have more fun creating their own real life dramas. Perhaps it is because they feel there is a sense of control, or maybe there is an element of sadism involved. Either way, playing games online is a great way to unwind and get away from various daily stresses. Did you know that half of Facebook logins are just to play games? Most players are female and game play is generally increased over the weekend.
There is a new game out there called Tail Towns Friends. It is available for free and playable on Facebook. The game is almost like a soap opera and includes realistic graphics and characters with juicy storylines. There are figurines that go along with the game and come to life on Facebook. You can win one Tail Towns figurine by sending out a tweet to #TailTowns and describing your dream garden or country getaway. Once you send out the tweet, come back and leave me a comment with the URL of the tweet. One winner will be randomly selected. Giveaway Ends 7/13/2012.
