My toddler goes with me everywhere. She even came to every OB appointment with me when I was pregnant with my infant. Each time we leave the house for an activity that is not geared towards her, such as a trip to the supermarket, a visit with a friend at a cafe, or a doctors appointment for myself, I make sure that I have things packed to keep her entertained. The last thing any mom wants is a bored toddler!
As most moms will tell you- sometimes you forget to bring something along with you to keep your child entertained. When you have an iPhone, that’s usually not a problem because there are plenty of child friendly apps that will keep them engaged long enough for you to run your errands. Playground TV is a great app to have on your iPhone because it brings all your child’s TV shows on the road with you-commercial free! Your child can watch full episodes of PBS shows such as Dinosaur Train, Word Girl, Cat in the Hat, Sesame Street and more. They can also watch their favorite Nick Jr. shows like Dora, Pocoyo, and Go, Diego, Go!
The app is free to download from iTunes and includes educational content. Once you are ready to upgrade, you can purchase subscriptions for either 1, 3, or 6 months. You can even watch the shows on your MacBook, iPad, so wherever you go you can watch the shows for the same price! What I love about this app is that it being EDUCATIONAL shows right to your iOS device. There are so many shows out there geared towards kids, but the ones on PBS and Nick Jr. are age appropriate and do not contain any violence. There is something to be learned in each of the shows. Kids can learn basic skills such as sharing, simple mathematics, basic Spanish, and more, all by learning from their favorite characters.
