Is my Baby Boring?

I really hate to even admit this, but after being around 2 very active, chatty, loud boys I find my sweet little baby girl a bit boring from time to time. My boys are 4 and 3 years old and I had them home with me this summer 24/7. Our summer was filled with great things like laughter, adventures, trips to the Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and the Hall of Science. And some not so great things like fighting, wrestling, screaming, whining, complaining, etc. In all situations and scenarios there was a lot of noise. I couldn’t wait until the arrival of the cool breezes of fall so I could drop them off for full days of school. Finally, I would have one on one time with my little baby girl.

The first few days of school were wonderful. I ran errands, I was finally able to do a few things around the house in peace and quiet, and I could actually watch something on TV that I wanted. But after being home alone with my little dumpling all day, day after day, I found myself questioning, “do I have a boring baby?”. She’s almost seven months old, and I truly love and enjoy her, but I find myself waiting for her to do something a little more interesting. She’s not sitting up own her own yet, or crawling, or babbling, or enjoying eating solid food, and the list goes on. Yes, I love her to pieces and she’s adorable. She has an incredible smile and makes awesome screeches and squeals….but I’m longing for just a bit more. I know toddler trouble is right around the corner, but maybe I’m just accustom to the trouble? Are there other parents out there with older kids who find their new babies boring as well?
