Although my toddler is still in a 5-point harness car seat, I know all too well the annoyance of having her head tilt forward when she falls asleep. It is very difficult to adjust her when I am driving and my poor baby will wake up with a stiff neck if she is not moved. I’ve tried putting a small stuffed animal wedged between her head and the car seat, but that will only help for a few minutes and the weight of her head causes the plush to move out of place. I often joked with my husband that we needed to invent something to keep kids comfortable in the car when they sleep.
The makers of SeatPets must have heard me because they came out with the cutest monster-pillow that attach to regular seatbelts (not 5 point harnesses) for children who are either in booster seats or out of a car seat altogether. I think SeatPets are genius and I’m hoping they will invent one that fits car seats soon! Along with being the coziest cushion for your tyke, they even offer three pockets and two zippered compartments so they can store essentials for the car ride.
SeatPets come in three monster styles: Whish, Airheart and Awty (which cleverly stands for Are We There Yet!) They are recommended for ages 4 and up, and retail for $19.99. They’ve even won the following awards:
- Creative Child 2012 Product of the Year • Kid’s Travel Product category
- Dr. Toy 100 Best Children’s Products 2012
- The National Parenting Center • Fall 2012 Seal of Approval Winner
