In the past decade, crib bumpers have been one of the most criticized pieces of bedding. The fear of a baby pressing their face up against the bumper and suffocating has been the topic of conversation, yet so many bedding companies are still including bumpers as part of their crib sets. I have yet to see a crib bedding set that doesn’t come with bumpers. Apparently, companies are leaving it up to the discretion of the parents and including them anyway. I heard of BreathableBaby Bumpers from a friend when I was pregnant, so I decided to check them out. I never took the chance with ordinary bumpers, as cute as they were, because it just wasn’t worth the risk. I felt that if there were so many warnings out there on bumpers, that many children were affected and this wasn’t something to be taken lightly.
BreathableBaby Bumpers come in a variety of solid colors that match just about any decor, and now they came out with new styles that include patterns. I love that I was able to safely use a bumper, not only to decorate my baby’s crib, but also to keep her tiny limbs from getting caught in the slots. We successfully used BreathableBaby Bumpers up until my little girl was in her toddler bed.
There are new items to choose from in the BreathableBaby product catalog. I love their new CribShield full coverage mesh liner which keeps children from pushing down the bumper or trying to use it as leverage to climb out of the crib. It also prevents babies from chewing on their crib – another problem I had with my daughter! The CribShield allows airflow and is completely breathable, so you don’t have to worry about suffocation.
BreathableBaby was created by Dale and Suzanne Waters after they couldn’t find a safe solution to keep their daughter from getting caught in the crib slots. Thanks to their desperate situation, BreathableBaby was born! I believe that all great ideas for babies come from parents who had a need that was not met by anything else on the market, so they create it – and this was just the case with the Waters!

BreathableBaby recently changed the name of our product to Breathable Mesh Crib Liner to more accurately convey the true nature of our product and to distinguish it from traditional bumpers that parents should avoid due to the risk of suffocation. Not all packaging has changed over yet, so if you see Breathable Mesh Crib Liner, or Breathable Mesh Crib Bumper – it’s the same great product, just new name.
