There are many women in my life who inspire me. Of course, my mom is at the top of that list. I have many friends who also inspire me and support me in everything I do. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by strong, vibrant women who are worthy of “mom of the year award.”
One of my friends, who I happened to meet just by chance, has been an amazing support to me for the past year. She is a fellow blogger over at Newly Crunchy Mama of 3. Last year when I was struggling with the choice of whether or not to have a VBAC with my second baby, she not only took the time to answer all my questions, but she also offered to talk to me at any time, day or night. While being a busy domestic queen in her own home and busy with two toddlers and a preteen, she also took time to be a friend to a stranger. Being a seasoned mom, she knew that my toddler was about to lose some of mommy’s attention when the new baby would arrive, so she sent her a Step 2 playhouse as a big-sister gift. Amazing. Some so-called “friends” that are local didn’t even take the time to send a simple text to congratulate me on the birth of my new baby, but Brandy went above and beyond to make someone feel special.
For this reason, I feel that Brandy is a woman who shines. She is welcoming to all and lends an ear to anyone that needs it. I nominated her for the Yahoo! Shine’s Women Who Shine program because she deserves it! As moms, we often put our needs last to take care of our families, so I would like to take this time to give Brandy a nomination she deserves!
I think Brandy deserves to win this title! Please join me and vote on the Yahoo Women who Shine site! Where you can vote for Brandy and help her win! Do you know a woman who shines? You can nominate her by checking out . You can also find out more about the program on Facebook and Twitter.
About Yahoo! Shine “Women Who Shine”
Women Who Shine is Yahoo! Shine’s inaugural women’s recognition program. Nominate your peers, mentors, family and any other women in your community who inspire you and others with their extraordinary achievements. This program stands apart because the honorees are not the high-profile women or celebs you see in most other “Woman of the Year” or “Most Powerful Women” programs. It’s women nominating the local heroes in their communities and it is Shine’s readers, not an editorial staff, who decide who wins. For more info check out: .
