This Valentine’s day will be very different for my family. I can’t say that we actually have a Valentine’s day routine or ritual, but typically my daughter and her cousins have a little party where they decorate cards, play, and have heart shaped snacks like mini pizzas.
My hubby and I always spend valentines day with our kids. If we get time together, we celebrate on the weekend leading up to or after valentines day. This year, my husband will not be celebrating with us in person, since I will be taking our girls and heading south to see family. It will still be a nice way to spend the holiday of love! Since my cousin will be hosting us, finding the perfect gift for her is a must.

When you are a mom, it seems that Valentine’s takes on many meanings and shopping for a little something special for each person your love is always a great way to celebrate how you feel about them. For my cousin, I would love to get her a new vase or some table decor to thank her for her hospitality, for the hubby, a watch he’s been eyeing, for my girls, cute new dresses (they are quite the princesses!) and we can’t forget about me.
