Have you ever opened a cabinet and had a bunch of things flying down at you? This happens to me so much, I ask my toddler not to stand near me when I am opening a cabinet. It sounds funny, but it’s really not. While I’m not the best at organization, I don’t like clutter or a disorganized home. My husband, on the other hand, places items in a cabinet and quickly closes the door, hoping they won’t fall. Not cool…
With baby #1, her bottles and food were always neatly stacked in her own cabinet. Once she started sippy and straw cups, I found that the clutter grew, the cabinets became cluttered with straws, valves, and other miscellaneous sippy cup replacement parts. When baby #2 came along, the clutter grew, with 5 different types of bottles (because she’s a picky one!) various pacifiers, as well as breast pump parts. We decided to give the kids a bigger cabinet in the kitchen, but first we had to figure out a better way to keep it organized.
We came across the Universal Baby Bottle and Sippy Cup Organizer, which is sold at Buy Buy Baby for $24.95. What caught my eye is that it grows with baby, accommodating various bottle sizes. I like that it holds up to 12 bottles or sippy cups- and since I’ve opted to use glass bottles, it gently releases one bottle at a time- so I don’t have to worry about breakage. All the bottles are contained to one area, so the cabinet stays organized and baby’s bottles stay sterilized and clean. Since we have tried so many bottles with my baby, I decided to place all the various bottles in the organizer to see which ones fit better. I can tell you that they ALL fit- Born Free, Medela, Evenflo, Avent, and Playtex. For the shorter bottles, the organizer stays on the smallest setting. Once you switch over to the long bottles, you can easily expand the unit to fit the bottles. I like that I can even use this to organize my pumped breastmilk in the fridge by placing the new milk in the back and the old milk in the front. The unit easily fits in the refrigerator. The extra basket that comes with the Universal Baby Bottle and Sippy Cup Organizer holds all the nipples, pacifiers, and pump parts, to keep the rest of the cabinet organized.
Glass food jars is another item in our cabinets that need organizing. I usually shop the sales for baby food jars, so I usually have a lot to keep organized. My little one is starting solids soon, so the way they will be organized is by type of food, then by expiration date. The Universal Baby Food Jar Organizer can be used in the fridge or cabinet, and holds up to 16 jars of baby food. This organizer is a one size fits all since it is easily expanded to accomodate the Stage 1-Stage 3 baby food jars. The Universal Baby Food Jar Organizer retails for $24.95 and can be found at Buy Buy Baby, or by visiting the PRK Products site.

I sure could have used these when the boys were little. I just had jars stacked in the closet and they kept falling over.

Those are amazing, do they make them for regular foods too? I need something like that in my fridge and cupboards.

This is certainly a nice product. I remember having tons of baby food jars, knocking them over since I was trying to stack them, etc. Things are getting better and better for moms out there.

Interesting idea, but I would have noped it transformed into something else after the baby grew up. You only use bottles for ~6 months and jarred baby food for maybe 8 months – It seems silly to buy something so specific that you plan on throwing it away in less than a year after you bought it (with the obvious exception for multiple babies or hand-me-downs.)

These are great! I’m going to have to get both for my very organized hubby, the bottle and baby food storage has been a huge problem since the beginning. Everything else in the kitchen has a set place except the baby’s stuff.
