Back to school season is upon us and there is nothing like the hustle and bustle of getting supplies and gear ready for a new school year. My hubby and I are both teachers, so back to school affects EVERYONE in our household. There are a few things we do to get ready for back to school in order to get everyone in the family involved.
About 2 weeks before school starts, we all wake up early. We start off with waking up a half hour early and then push it up to an hour earlier. This helps everyone get on a routine before schools actually start. During back to school shopping season, we scope out all the hottest deals that the retailers in our area have to offer. We are about an hour away from outlet shops, so we do all the back to school clothing shopping at those stores – they often have amazing deals and coupons!
I like to make a meal plan with my family. Being on vacation all summer takes us completely off routine – most nights we aren’t even home for dinner. Making a weekly meal plan keeps us on budget and makes life much easier for me. I scope out the weekly circulars to see which supermarket has the best deals and I try to get everything from one place. Since meals are planned out, I have everything I will need on hand. The fall harvest season is the best for some yummy dishes.
Having a preschooler means back to school is a cinch (in comparison to elementary or secondary aged students). There is less to purchase, less planning, and a lot more fun for everyone involved. I am enjoying these days as I know back to school season will be much more hectic once we have to worry about supply lists!
Tiny prints has some awesome back to school finds for students and teachers – from personalized notebooks, planners, and labels – they have it all! Check out their back to school list! I have used Tiny Prints in the past for my daughter’s Christening invitations and I was more than happy with their service and quality.
