Our summer travels will be limited to car trips this year, but that won’t hold us back from exploring neighboring states and various activities for our children. Being prepared with appropriate snacks is a must, but having healthy options is ideal. Fresh fruits and easy to transport veggies are my ideal of good snacking, but I have seen my girls go through a few days worth of fruits and veggies in just one sitting. You won’t hear complaints from me, but it’s good to know that 7-Eleven stocks fresh produce options for our excursions.
On any car trip we’ve taken, whether it was before kids or with, 7-Eleven was always our go-to rest stop for coffee, beverages, snacks, and even the necessary bathroom break. When we would travel without kids, snacking was very different for us. My husband and I opted for easy-to-go bars and sweet indulgences, but since our girls are such great eaters, we want to stick with the fresh produce their eat and enjoy, and really don’t want to introduce sweets for snacks. (Unless of course it’s a sweet apple or banana!)
For my husband and I, there are other options in the latest 7-Eleven Fresh Foods line like sandwiches, salads, yogurt, and bistro snacks. As we get older and understand the importance of better food options, especially for the appropriate energy we need to keep up with 3 kids, we can appreciate these better options as opposed to the traditional chocolate bar as a hold over til the next meal.
