There are a few reasons why my hubby and I decided to start cloth diapering. One was for our daughter and limiting the chemicals that she comes in contact with. The other was for the environment and limiting her carbon footprint. (Oh yeah, and then there is the cost factor too!)
Babeegreens is a company that has the same belief as our family because they also believe in limiting baby’s exposure to harmful chemicals, as well as using the most natural fibers against baby’s skin.
We had the opportunity to review Babeegreens Growing Green in Organic Cotton. These are our go-to diaper for babysitters or daddy-duty diaper changes because they are very easy to use and also very absorbent. I do have to warn you that you really do need to wash the diaper at least 5 times before you use it to increase the absorbency. I used it after only 2 washes and it was not as absorbent as it is now, after over 10 washes.
These diapers require a cover, but they are very straight forward and east to use. They come with a doubler already attached to the diaper – which means super absorbent. They are also very trim.
My favorite feature about these diapers is the environmental factor. Did you know that cotton is one of the highest pesticide dependent plants? All the pesticides that are used in the cotton clothing you wear leaches onto your skin. Not only are the pesticides harmful, but the chlorination process that cotton goes through to make it white is also harmful to us.
Babeegreens uses the highest grade of pesticide free, organic, unbleached cotton – so baby’s bottom is wrapped in only the finest materials.
Simply put, organic cotton is good for the environment and good for your baby too.
Babygreens has a wide variety of organic baby clothing and cloth diapering products. You can connect with them on Facebook to stay updated on all their latest announcements!
