I don’t have a green thumb. At. All. My husband likes to poke fun when garden shops post signs like “easy care” because he knows if I take that poor plant home, I will manage to have its leaves withered and brown in no time.
Last Easter, I purchased Back to the Roots kits for all the little cousins in the family. I don’t know if they actually used them, but I felt they were easy enough that the kids can put them together on their own and reap the benefits of knowing they grew something.
Back to the Roots has expanded their line to include so many different types of indoor plants, herbs, mushrooms, and more. We received a few kits to check out for ourselves, but we are still waiting for sprouts, which should start about 2 weeks after planting. I can’t wait to add fresh basil from my windowsill in my recipes, and have mint blossoming in my kitchen.
After reading about the benefits of lavender for having calming effects, I knew the Back to the Roots Lavender kit would be a perfect touch of purple to add to my girls’ room, and hopefully, the calming effects would be beneficial during bedtime (one can hope!)
You can find these and a variety of other windowsill garden kits by visiting Back to the Roots.
