We are on our 7th week of “NY on Pause” and I thought at this point we would be at our wit’s end. Ironically the worst part was the beginning of quarantine. As the days turn into weeks and our family finds new ways to entertain ourselves, the passing time has gotten a bit easier. Couple innovative ways to keep busy and stressing the importance of maintaining our outside relationships, I think we finally have a handle of social distancing.
Knowing we would soon be on lockdown, I headed to my local Target and stocked up on items I thought would combat boredom. I know kids need to remain active to stay healthy, so I loaded my cart up with outdoor toys, as well as some indoor raining day activities.
The first few weeks of NY on Pause felt like an eternity. It rained or was very cold nearly every single day. We took advantage of being indoors to tackle some organizational and cleaning projects around the house, as well as playing family board games. My little guy enjoyed the Playmobil 1.2.3 My First Train Set. The bigger pieces and vibrant colors are perfect for tots, and if you have a little one that loves trains, this is the set for them! We all know that Playmobil doesn’t leave out any details. Check out the pics below!
My oldest daughter has grown fond of animation and design and received a Stikbot Animation Studio to keep her mind sharp and her creativity flowing during the time she’s at home. She loves tucking away in her room on her own and creating animations with her Stikbot, then sharing it with the family. A free Stikbot Studio app is available, and she gets some of her Stikbot animation ideas from YouTube.
Along with the previously mentioned indoor toys, we also received two outdoor toys for review. Pop and Pass includes two launchers and soft foam balls to launch back and forth between two players. Since the balls are soft, this toy can be played indoors as well, but the kids prefer the open space outdoor to play.
Birdie Golf is a cross between badminton and golf. I personally love the portability of this toy as it can be taken along on beach trips or trips to the park.
You can find all of these toys at Amazon and Target!
