Back to school season means the inevitable virus, infection, or illness is sure to follow. Last year my oldest had 7 strep infections and we were housebound for most of the winter season. Unfortunately her doctor has recommended her tonsils be removed if she has just 1 more strep infection. We are crossing our fingers that last year was just a bad year overall, and hopefully we can leave her tonsils where they belong.
Along with her infections came high fevers. She was very sensitive to the ear thermometer after being prodded so much, and sometimes I just wanted to keep tabs on her fever throughout the night without waking her if it wasn’t necessary. Our forehead thermometer was still a little intrusive of her sleep. When I found out that Braun had added a no-touch thermometer to their product line, I had to give it a shot. Braun is already a well known brand in our household, so I knew they wouldn’t put a product out unless they could stand behind it.

The Braun No touch + forehead thermometer takes touch and no-touch readings. I’ve found the touch readings to be a bit more accurate, and still very simple to take without disturbing a sleeping child. My favorite feature is the light-up display. I often found it difficult to read the ear thermometer during night readings because of the lack of light.

Overall, we are happy with the Braun No-touch thermometer. It gives me peace of mind at night when my kids are sick, is easy to use between all three of my kids, has a light up display, and takes temperatures within 2 seconds. What more could you ask for!?
The Braun No Touch thermometer retails at $60 and is sold at your local drugstore or Babies R Us.
