I’ve posted in the past about my issues with enjoying my backyard to the fullest due to pesky mosquitos. Even today, a cooler, almost-fall day, I was sitting outside with my kids and mosquitos swarmed around, looking for a perfect place to perch and attack. My son, my oldest daughter, and myself are always the victims. We seem to get attacked by mosquitos even when we don’t see them, and soon after we are bit we react with bright red circles that not only itch, but burn. It’s not pleasant, and for this reason, I choose to stay indoors.
What is DynaTrap?
We’ve tried various methods of getting rid of mosquitos in our backyard, and have been very successful this year in finding solutions that work with us. Backyard mosquito spraying has worked wonders for us, but during the months we are not spraying we still need a solution. This is when we came across DynaTrap. DynaTrap uses 3 tactics to trap pesky bugs. It emits UV light to lure in mosquitos, releases CO2 to attract them, and silently vacuums them into a cage. Really, the DynaTrap produces NO sound whatsoever and is safe around kids and pets.
Where do you place DynaTrap?
We put DynaTrap to the test this past month. It sits in a corner in our backyard, always plugged in and on. It looks like a decorative piece in our yard and doesn’t make any sound, so no one would even know what it was if we didn’t tell them. The unit we have covers an acre of property, which is actually laughable for a NYC town. We don’t have anywhere near an acre, so I guess our neighbors can thank us for taking care of their mosquitos as well.
Does DynaTrap Work?
After a month of use I can tell you that I’ve noticed a decrease in the amount of mosquitos and yellowjackets in our yard. When opening the DynaTrap unit, it is full of various types of small flies as well. My husband noticed an increase in the amount of mosquitos in the sitting area near the DynaTrap unit, which makes sense because it does attract mosquitos.
We would definitely continue to use and recommend DynaTrap, especially if mosquitos are keeping you from enjoying your backyard. You can purchase DynaTrap from Amazon and a variety of outdoor-garden retailers.
