My husband says when it comes to printers, I’ve become very picky. It’s true- it took me weeks to find the perfect printer when our old one died, and even then I wasn’t happy. I expect quality and certain features when it comes to an all in one printer system, and at the top of those features is excellent photo quality. I print and scrapbook a lot with our family photos, so I need a printer that can keep up and give me the quality I have come to expect. I was very brand loyal to my previous printer brand after trying other top brands out there, but after checking out Epson, I have changed my thinking.
Epson was one company I had not tried until recently. I heard great things about quality, but since I didn’t experience all the wonderful things this printer was capable of, I stuck with a brand I was most comfortable with. Since we are in the process of renovating half our home, including our office, I needed a smaller printer that can still do it all, and the Epson Expressions XP-820 fit the bill. The compactness means it takes up less space than our old printer. Don’t let the size fool you- the quality of the pictures the Epson Expressions XP-820 prints are amazing and on par with what I expect when it comes to photo printing at home. Five ink cartridges ensures perfect colors and tones every time.
Another feature that is a must for me is an auto document feeder with front and back scanning capabilities. I didn’t know how much I would love this feature until we no longer had it with our newer printer (which now needs a new home with someone who has lower-printer standards.) I would often have to scan or copy multiple pages at once when I was a teacher, and my husband also used this feature for his job. It makes life THAT much easier when your all in one printer can automatically scan your documents and you don’t have to sit there feeding each page one at a time.
The paper cartridge can hold multiple size printing media, so you don’t have to constantly change your paper. You can store your photo paper in one cartridge while printing on regular paper from another. Just change the options on your printer settings before printing.
A newer feature which I have also come to love is e-printing, or wireless printing. I can connect my cell phone to the printer wirelessly and print directly from my phone, without having to turn my computer on. How’s that for convenient!? Plus the Epson Connect site gives me even more options, like printing while I’m not home and sending things directly to the printer, even when I’m not on the same network.
I love the ease and convenience Epson has offered us, but more of all I love the quality of our frame-able memories. The Epson XP-820 has made our holiday gift guide this year as a top gift for the techie in your life! You can find out more information about this printer by visiting Epson.
