Keeping my toddler active in the winter has been a challenge. I don’t like the cold weather, and I definitely don’t like bundling up. I have tried taking her to the park to get rid of some excess energy on cooler days, and she had complained the entire way to the park that she was cold. I guess the cold weather isn’t for her either- but keeping her cooped up in an apartment isn’t the best option for us either. I notice on the days that she isn’t very active, she doesn’t sleep well at night and she has many tantrums throughout the day. Physical activity is just as important in the winter as it is in the summer!
I’ve spoken with my husband about getting her a child-size trampoline and he thinks I’m crazy. It wasn’t until she bounced on her first trampoline in gymnastics class that he was sold. He realized that with handlebars to hold on to, a trampoline may not be such a bad idea after all.
The JumpSport iBounce is just what we were looking for. A trampoline small enough to fit in our home, and safe enough that my husband would feel okay about. Any trampoline still holds the possibility of injury, so we set rules for her. She is not allowed on the trampoline when no one is around, and she must hold on to the handle bars the entire time. She isn’t allowed to fool around, and can only bounce up and down and not try any tricks. So far, our rules have stuck, and she has been enjoying her JumpSport trampoline.
This holiday season, consider the JumpSport Trampoline for your kids. It is a great way for them to release some energy, and comes with a DVD they can hop along to with a fun friend: RompyRoo. There are currently three DVDs that go along with the JumpSport, so kids won’t get bored, but believe me, they won’t need a DVD to keep them entertained. The JumpSport is my toddler’s favorite toy! RompyRoo teaches her things such as number and colors, and there are also exercises that parents can do along with their children. One DVD, Where is Mr. Fuzzy, comes with the JumpSport and the other two, Let the Games Begin! and The Grand Finale can be purchased separately. You can also stream the videos directly from your tablet, which attaches to the iBounce with the included tablet holder.
The JumpSport Trampoline has a great price point of $130, and is suitable for ages 2-5, or up to 80 pounds. It took my husband about 20 minutes to put the trampoline together- and he’s not handy at all (sorry hubby!) so before long, your child will be having a great time bouncing around! My suggestion: if you are giving this to your child for Christmas, put it together the night before. They will be so excited to get a trampoline, they will want to bounce on it immediately!
