You’ve probably read a few advice stories on how to get your toddler into a decent nighttime routine. This isn’t one of them. I’m totally guilty of not properly getting my first two children into a night time routine until we moved into our new home. At that point I had a 4 year old and a 1 year old. In our previous home getting into a routine was difficult because the girls shared a room and had different sleeping styles. My oldest was a nigh owl while my then-youngest was more structured about going to bed at a specific time- it was nothing I did to train her this way. My husband couldn’t function with these various sleep schedules and we needed structure. Once we moved and the girls were in their own rooms, we established a more stringent routine and set clear expectations of bedtime, kinda. When I was convincing my husband to go for baby #3, I assured him that this one would sleep- after all, we knew better this time around. We knew what mistakes to avoid. Except baby #3 is notorious for throwing the family for a loop (I should know best, I am baby #3!)

A new member in the family would mean that my hubby and I were outnumbered. Someone would have to put themselves to sleep while I got my little guy in a night time routine. We start with dinner, a warm bath, and a light baby massage with coconut oil. After that I put him in New Pampers Swaddlers Overnight to ensure he’s protected throughout the night, and then put his pajamas on. There have been a few nights where I didn’t place him in an overnight diaper and we were up in the middle of the night with leaks, which sometimes kept him up for a few hours and made me wish I didn’t take any shortcuts.

We use Pampers Swaddlers during the day and I am ecstatic they added larger sizes to their lineup so my baby can be wrapped in the softest diapers from birth to potty training. My husband loves the blue indicator line that shows if baby is wet (you think by baby #3 he wouldn’t need an indicator anymore!) My heavy wetter needed extra protection at night and now that Pampers Swaddlers have a night time version I’ve been happy with them. Typically overnight diapers FEEL different. They are bulkier, maybe even stiffer, but Pampers Overnights feel exactly like regular Swaddlers but have the added overnight protection we need. We have experienced ZERO leaks since using Pampers Swaddlers Overnights. Pampers Swaddlers Overnight offer 12 hours of protection and wrap your baby in blankie-softness all night long (even if they aren’t in an ideal night time routine!) Pampers Swaddlers are available at Babies R Us.
