I know a lot of moms complain about the amount of toys they have piling up in their homes, but I also know that children LOVE to receive toys, as opposed to clothing, when you get them a gift. We were all kids once – don’t you remember those birthdays where you would get a toy from your favorite aunt, money from grandma, and socks from your mom? Which present did you like the best? I’m willing to bet it was the fun building toy (even if the cash was worth 10 of those toys combined!)
My toddler is no different, and while I try to limit how many toys I personally purchase for her, since she get’s so many from family members, I still get her the occasional toy for good behavior. Lately, she has been big on children’s puzzles and can sit for hours, okay- maybe minutes, putting puzzles together and using her trial and error skills. I love that even when she is stumped, she would rather figure it out on her own than ask me for help – it shows that she is coming into her own independence!
My nephew, on the other hand, prefers cool remote control toys. Amazing, the difference between boys and girls who are in the same age group. Anything electronic and he is tinkering away at it. This is why I love shopping at ebeanstalk. They have all their toys categorized by age and gender, so it is easy to find appropriate toys for the child on your shopping list.
After browsing through their catalog, I love the idea of Perfect Petz – Orange Tabby Cat. My toddler has been asking me for a cat lately and I just know with a new baby in the house this isn’t the best time to bring an animal into our home. After reading more information about Perfect Petz, I think it is perfect for her, as it breathes, cuddles, and acts like a real cat – without of course the litter box, vet bill, and feeding requirement!
