One thing that my kids got to really enjoy during their time off from school due to quarantine was reading more books that they enjoyed rather than books they had to read from school. My girls love a variety of genres as they are still trying to figure out what they love to read about. Just like adults, kid love to find characters in a book they can connect with. This makes the content relatable and their desire to read on their free time increases tremendously. My favorite thing to do with all my kids is to sit in the yard while the sun is shining and read independently, while we are all together. The quiet time is necessary for all!
We had the opportunity to check out the Explorer Academy series which includes 5 books: The Nebula Secret, The Falcon’s Feather, The Double Helix, The Star Dunes, and The Tiger’s Nest. I had my 11 year old daughter read them because I felt like she could connect to the main character- 12 year old Cruz Coronado. Cruz is from Hawaii and has the chance to attend the Explorer Academy with kids from around the world in order to be the next generation of great explorers. During his time at Explorer Academy, Cruz comes to a realization that his family has deep dark secrets and he makes it his mission to find out more.
I don’t want to give too much of the storyline away, but if your kids love a good mystery series, The Explorer Academy is a great place to get lost in a book! The Explorer Academy series is fact-based fiction that is inspired by real-life adventures. Each book is action-packed and engaging, plus they include “Truth Behind the Fiction” at the end of each book which elaborates on the story with factual events that inspired the story.
Each hardcover book in The Explorer Academy Series retails for $16.99 and can be purchased from Amazon. For a limited time you can save 50% on The Nebula Secret by using the promo code 50OFFEA1 when you
