Our family summer house was in need of some major TLC. My dad was always on top of keeping up with the needs of the house, but somewhere between raising his own kids, his full time job, and now on the verge of retirement, he let a lot of things go. Our deck, for one, was something he would sand down every summer and repaint. He couldn’t keep up, and eventually the wood of the old deck rotted and my parents were looking into other, low maintenance options.
After speaking with neighbors who had recently completed their own patio work, my parentslearned about TimberTech composite decking and the benefits of not having to sand and paint each summer. They also learned that since their summer home was on the beach, TimberTech composite decking would be a better option that would stand up to the salty climate.
Our TimberTech deck was installed about 2 years ago, and in that time the color has stayed the same, the deck shows no signs of wear, chipping, or the need for anything more than a quick hosing down or sweeping. We’ve all been happy with the results, and the best part? No more splinters in our feet!
Not sure if TimberTech is right for you? You can order samples to see and feel the quality of their deck solutions. There’s even a design tool to help you decide the best layout for your deck. In our case, our new deck replaced the same layout as the old deck, with the addition of center steps as opposed to the previous side-steps.
