One of our favorite shops, Build-A-Bear, creates memories and friends. We love visiting Build-A-Bear for special events, like birthdays, graduation, and “just because.” My oldest daughter was just 18 months when we started going, and even though we have been back many times after that, each time is special and different than the time before.
Build-A-Bear also has some great initiatives. Their current campaign, Huggable Heroes, takes place from now until June 12, 2014 and you can nominate a young person between the ages of 8-18 for extraordinary acts of service. They have also teamed up with the USO and will be donating up to $50,000 for the organization! This is the 11th annual search for a Huggable Hero and a great way to reward those ages 8-18 who make the world a better place.
Do you know a kid who should be recognized for their extraordinary acts of service? You can nominate a young person by visiting your local Build-A-Bear store or head to the Huggable Heroes website. You can donate to the USA in a Build-A-Bear Workshop stores around the country at checkout through June 30, 2014. A $1 donation will also be made to the USO when you use the hashtag #babwUSOthanks on social media. There is no cost to you when you do this, and it’s such a great (and easy) way to help out and give back!
Check out Huggable Heroes to find our more information and to nominate someone special today! Nominations will be narrowed down to 50 finalists, who will then be narrowed down to 10 winners to receive a $5,000 scholarship. A $2,500 donation to a charity of the winners’ choice will be made on their behalf.
Did you know that in the past 11 years, over 12,000 kids have participated in this amazing program? Nominate someone special today!
