Warning: What you are about to read may disturb you if you are trying to lose weight. The following are factual accounts of my past week on (kinda) Nutrisystem.
This entire week I was very strict about what I ate and stuck with Nutrisystem only foods. I was very disappointed in my results last week so I knew that only I could fix the situation and make it better. I did very well, up until Sunday – when I asked hubby to pick me up some Starbucks. Now, Starbucks has some decent choices if you choose wisely – I opted for no whip and skim milk in my coconut mocha frappuccino. The sugar alone would have done me in – so I decided to take out my dessert for the day.
I was extremely impressed with my hubby when he handed me my drink. He also decided to go for no whip and skim milk in his drink. He stated that he was shocked how his drink had the same amount of calories as one of his Nutrisystem meals even by cutting most of the fat out of his drink. I know this blog post is suppose to be about my success, but the fact that my once-extremely-overweight hubby started to read nutrition labels and actually apply it to his life impressed me A LOT!
Back to me: So, another reason why this post may disturb you is that I cheated this morning. I had an insatiable craving for some smooth chocolate and took a spoonful of Nutella. It was worth it – but I will not be having my dessert again to make up for it.
Moral of this post – indulging once or twice does not make you a failure. Many people that are on diets think that once they indulge, they can no longer stand to be on a diet, but I think it is the opposite. Cheating one time on my diet did not make me re-gain the weight I already lost. Consistent cheating will.
I lost another .6 pounds on Nutrisystem this week and I feel FANTASTIC! I tried the Fettuccini Alfredo for lunch for the first time and it is YUMMY! Tastes just like homemade!
