If you have been following my blog for a while, then you know that I recently made the switch to cloth diapers. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to cloth diaper my toddler when we are out and about or when we go away for the weekend, so I still use disposable diapers from time to time. I naturally stuck with the diapers that I had been using before I began cloth diapering, but since we are trying to be as “green” and eco friendly as possible, I thought about switching to disposable diapers that were better for my little girl as well as better for the environment.
I started using Seventh Generation products when my little girl was born. Their dish soap was the only one that I found to clean well, rinse well, and was fragrance free. This was perfect for newborn bottles and nipples. I used the Seventh Generation fabric softener because I found it on sale one day at Babies R Us, so I purchased a few and I was very pleased with the results – it softened the clothes without leaving behind a fragrance.
Shortly after we began cloth diapering, we also made the switch with my little girl’s wipes. I decided to go with Seventh Generation Wipes because they were chlorine free and did not contain any harmful parabens. We are happy with them and the packaging is much easier for on the go than the other wipes we were using.
I have considered switching her disposable diapers to since we were so happy with the other Seventh Generation products, but diapers are very expensive and I didn’t want to get “stuck” with new diapers that wouldn’t work for us.
I had the opportunity to review Seventh Generation Diapers and I am pleased to say that they are our NEW go-to disposable diapers. Seventh Generation Free and Clear diapers are not processed with chlorine, and they are free of fragrances, latex, and petroleum based lotions. They have been redesigned with a lighter-weight core so that they are more landfill-friendly. During their whitening process, they do not emit any harmful chemicals into the environment – so they are eco friendly all around!
The plastic that Seventh Generation diapers are packaged in has been minimized and can also be recycled at any local supermarket that takes back plastic bags.
All in all, Seventh Generation has lived up to their reputation as being an eco friendly, green company.
