There is nothing more soothing to me than the smell of fresh laundry. I love when my sheets are fresh and I can still smell a hint of softener in them even after they are out of the dryer and onto my bed. The smell of freshly washed laundry does not mean that it should smell like it was dipped in perfume and hung out to dry. Even though I love the scent of fresh laundry, I don’t want the scent to be too overpowering.
This past Saturday I received a bottle of Snuggle Exhilarations in White Lilac and Lavender to review. This was perfect because Saturday is my laundry day and I was just getting ready to put a load in. When I first opened the yellow bottle to take a whiff, I noticed the smell was very soft and subtle. I wasn’t too sure this scent would make it through the rinse cycle AND the dryer, but for review purposes I use it on all the laundry that day.
Just yesterday, which was Monday, two days after doing laundry, I finally decided it was time to put the laundry away. With a busy weekend behind me, I didn’t have a chance to put everything where it belonged immediately. I forgot about the softener and my review. As I was folding the towels, I sniffed them – because I ALWAYS sniff my fresh laundry to make sure it meets my standards. The smell was not my typical softener, it was a toned down a bit, but it was very enjoyable. Yes, you may think I’m insane to say that sniffing laundry is enjoyable, but as I said, I LOVE that smell! It took me a minute to remember that I had tried out a different softener. I was surprised that the soft scent was able to last as long as it did!
