My toddler always totes around with me when I go to the supermarket. It is a routine trip for us and she knows the drill – you can’t open it until we pay for it, and after the cashier passes the items through the scanner, we pay with that rectangular plastic card. She has become so fascinated with paying for items and swiping the card, that when we are home, she pretends to pay for her toys before she plays with them. One evening, she set up a calculator on the window sill and pretended to scan all her blocks, then she turned to my husband and asked, “credit or debit.” We looked at each other, not even knowing how to respond to that question. It was fascinating that she paid that much attention to every detail and incorporated it in her playtime.
Finding toys to purchase for my toddler has become difficult. This is ALL my fault – I taught her how to play electronic games from her 2nd birthday, and while she enjoys her doll house and pretend play toys, she prefers the electronics. This Christmas, she will be unwrapping a Talking Cash Register from Zillionz. This is a great toy for the child that enjoys pretend play, plus it is electronic so it can interact with her.
The Talking Cash Register counts and encourages math skills. The scanner can read included barcode stickers and if there is a question about a price, your little one can even call for a price check over the loudspeaker (microphone.) The keypad talks too! Each entry is announced, while the digital display shows the numbers being entered. You can use the included play money or real money. With so many features, the Talking Cash Register is sure to be a hit for the child on your list!
The Talking Cash Register retails for $34.99 and comes in steel/blue or pink/lavender.
