My little girl has traded in her over-worked DVD (which I will leave un-named) for the new Tuneables DVD. The first day we got it, we watched it about 16 times – and I’m not a fan of sticking my child in front of the TV, but she insisted and I have a ton of last minute birthday planning to do – so I agreed. I didn’t pay attention to it at first – but after the third time of her asking to watch it, and even finished all her dinner (which never happens) while watching it, I started to pay attention.
A little boy and girl head over to a music shop to learn about music. They are dropped off by their mom and greeted by the shop owner. The little boy opens the “Pandora’s Box” of music and the music shop transforms into a wonderland of musical instruments that come to life. Mo, Pete, Clara, Gloria, and my two favorite: Sunny and Snair (get it?) introduce themselves in this new world and teach the kids all about music and dancing. My little girl started singing along with the Tuneables and even tries to interact with the characters by tapping her knees when they tell her to and by repeating music notes.
Personally, I could do without the repetitive music, but who cares what I think? When you have a child that truly enjoys an educational show, then you know who your real critic is! The Tuneables has become part of our night time routine of movie with dinner, (I have a VERY picky eater and this works for us) brush teeth and then lights out! With all the music programs around our neighborhood schools being cut, it is nice to see programs coming out that will engage children and foster their musical abilities.
You can Purchase the Tuneables CD and DVD for $29.99. Connect with The Tuneables on Facebook to stay updated on their latest news and offers! I hope they come out with another DVD soon!
