One of my favorite games for the Nintendo Wii was Big Brain Academy. I remember when it first came out and I had my husband grab me a copy on his way home from work. While we loved playing the Super Mario games together, I felt like Big Brain Academy was just for me. I was able to challenge myself in time limit games and I felt that this game really got me to think on my toes.
Having kids didn’t change my gaming habits too much, but now I’m always on the lookout for games we can play together as a family. Family Game Night in our home consists of a mix of board, card, and video games on the Nintendo Switch. Now that Big Brain Academy is available on the Nintendo Switch, I knew it was one I had to try out with my kids. I was a little concerned that it would be difficult for my 6-year-old to keep up with my 12-year-old in a game like this, but I was happy to see that I was able to adjust the difficulty level to match each child. In some way, I actually feel like he has to learn quickly in order to keep up with both his sisters, and maybe this makes him a little smarter!
Since my whole family is currently quarantined for the holidays, we have been spending a lot of time keeping ourselves busy. At least twice throughout the day, we all come together to play something, whether it is lego building, board games, and yes, games on the Nintendo Switch. Big Brain Academy gives us something new to play as a family, along with Mario Kart and Mario Party. Big Brain Academy really gets us all thinking outside the box and allows us to learn on our own, online with a friend, or compete as a family.
You can get your hands on Nintendo’s Big Brain Academy by downloading the game or a free demo from the Nintendo eShop. Big Brain Academy retails for $29.99 for a digital or physical copy. You can also get physical copy from Amazon or Target.
