Busy Moms may wonder how they can fit in more time with their children. If you are already running about with a lot of responsibilities, it isn’t always so easy. However, spending quality time with the kids is a must. If time is difficult to come by, think quality, not quantity. This may help you ease your anxiety woes when you only have half an hour or so, as quality time is far more important than just being with them. So, how can you spend more quality time with your kids?
Have a Daily Connect
A daily connect, is where you have one on one time with each of your children and check that they are ok. It is where you let them know that they are loved and that you are there to help them no matter what. The best time of day for this may be in the evening as they are tucked in bed. This is an essential thing to do, so they know you are there and care. If this is something that you do every day, you will be able to see a difference in them if something is wrong. It is up t you to coax it out of them. However, no matter what be calm, and always keep their confidence, no matter how hard it may be.
Schedule Dates
A regular date where you can enjoy time as a family is a great way to spend quality time with the kids. You can all go on an activity or some kind of outing. It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as you have something set in stone that cannot be disrupted for any other responsibility, like work, etc. During this time, you will bond, and the children will bond together too.
Cook Together
A great way to spend time together is to have a day where you all make something. You could see what the children would like to make, or you could come up with recipes like [this recipe] for bacon wrapped scallops. Having some fun in the kitchen and teaching them healthy eating habits at the same time is like a double whammy. Cooking can be something where they can show a little bit of innovation and flair.
Board Games
There are so many board games out there for all the family, and it is a great way to spend some quality time with the children. It gives you a chance to see how their mind works in a game situation. You will be able to see if they can think logically and competitively. It is a great way to get to know people in general.
Dinner at the Table
All families have to eat, so why not make the most of this time and eat together at the dinner table. Ban phones and open up discussions, perhaps about some news event. Ensure all your children get involved. This could be your chance to instill table manners and etiquette which can helot them in later life and see how they communicate with everyone around them.
