My girls love musicals and can be found reciting lines from their favorite movies at any given time. I was a little reluctant to show them Into the Woods because of the mixed reviews from friends who had seen it in the theaters, but I was pleasantly surprised that my daughters got really into it, really quick.
Into the Woods takes us on a journey with intertwining story lines from our favorite Disney classics. Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel are all included in this must-see musical. This movie is not a traditional Disney theme or happily ever after, but it has an interesting plot. It didn’t hold my daughter’s attention to the very end, but the more I watched, the more I was interested to see how everything turned out. There are some pretty big names in this movie, including Meryl Streep (the witch) Anna Kendrick, and Johnny Depp.
If you haven’t had a chance to see Into the Woods in theaters, preorder your copy from Amazon today for a fun family movie night. I would recommend this movie for children over 8 years old because the theme is a bit dark as compared to other Disney movies.
