My family doesn’t really need a reason to have a glass of wine, but holiday meals really aren’t complete without some vino on the table. Instead of bringing over holiday cookies to the various events we have this season, I like to bring over a bottle of red wine that I know the hostess will love. Since we have so many holiday parties to attend, it is not unusual for me to purchase a case of wine in November so that I always have a bottle on hand for get-togethers.
This holiday season, I had the opportunity to bring over a bottle of Concannon Conservancy Crimson and Clover to my cousin’s house. She is a wine-aholic as I call her, because she loves her wine. She has a few select reds that she enjoys with her dinner, so I was curious to have her taste this complex wine. Concannon Conservancy Crimson and Clover is a Petite Sirah blend with 50% Petite Sirah, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah and 10% Zinfandel.
My cousin told me that she never heard of Concannon Wines, nor had she ever hears of a Petite Sirah blend. She described the flavor as a smooth red that is versatile enough to be paired with any dinner. When I told her that it retailed for about $15, she was impressed and stated that she plans on ordering more!
