My undergraduate coursework was in nutrition and I studied foods and the effects of foods extensively. I had heard of the terms “organic” “hormone free” and “grass fed” before, but I really had no idea what it really pertained to. It was not until I took a class where we had to study the differences in organic foods vs. conventional foods where I realized that I should be more conscious about what foods I put in my body, and more importantly, what foods I put in my little girl’s developing body.
Did you know that America consumes WAY too much corn? Not only do we eat corn as a vegetable side dish – when it really isn’t a vegetable, but conventional farmers feed it to their livestock as well. So that hamburger you are eating, yeah, it’s ALL corn: from the bun to the meat.
My cousin shares the same beliefs I do when it comes to natural meat. After we noticed that our local grocery stores were a bit pricey for hormone free, grass fed beef, we decided to look into purchasing organic meat online to see what the difference is in price. Not only were we able to order beef online, but they also had steaks online for order!
