A few weeks ago Kia dropped off a shiny red Soul, left me the keys, and told me to have fun! This is exactly what I did with a fully featured, action packed 2013 Kia Soul. My hubby and I are talking about getting a new car, preferably one with three rows of seats, and although this didn’t quite fit our description it definitely gave us a taste for all that Kia has to offer. The car I have now is a mini SUV, and was purchased right before I had my first baby. I got the very basic package because at the time that was all we could afford, and I’m lucky the car even has a radio. We paid about $22,000 and didn’t have any premium features such as leather seats, seat warmers, or GPS. So, I was pretty shocked to see the sticker price for a 2013 Kia Soul. For the same price range, the Kia Soul offers everything I mentioned, plus more! The best part is, if you aren’t looking for all the bells and whistles, the prices for a Kia Soul start off at $14,400!
I took the car for a spin and felt like I was in my own car. It had the same mini SUV feel to it – which is comfortable for me. I’m not one to drive the huge, oversized vehicles, and the prospect of having anything bigger, say, with 3 rows of seats is kind of daunting. But let’s get back to the Kia Soul.
Safety
Safety is a main concern of mine. With two babies now and hopefully a couple more in the future, I’m always thinking about safety. The Kia Soul is equipped with air bags. Lots of them. All around the car! Top, bottom, back, front, you name it – there’s an airbag there. Kiddos for safety, Kia!
Features
You don’t HAVE to get a fully loaded Kia Soul, but in the $20,000 range I would say, Why not? The car, fully loaded, has a back-up camera, heated seats, BlueTooth, Sirius, and more. I love bells and whistles!
The Verdict
I love the idea of a Kia Soul. It’s not for me at this stage in my life, because kids stay in car seats for many years, so at some point I might have 3 in car seats at the same time. The Kia can easily fit two car seats, but three in a row would be too tight. If car seats aren’t an issue, then this is a great car, at an amazing price.
Disclosure: I was provided a Kia Soul to test drive for a week
