My little girl is turning two already in just a few weeks and the planning for her big day has begun. Last year I didn’t do anything huge for her birthday because she was at an age where she still didn’t “get it.” This year is totally different – even though she is only 2, she is amazed by birthday cakes and candles – and of course the singing! She has a few cartoon characters the she loves so it was hard to pick one and run with a theme for her big day.
I decided to go with a Minnie theme because when she would watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse she would always ask for Minnie. She also would gravitate towards Minnie items in the toy store than any other character. I decided to make the invitations myself and print them up as a photo on a photo-printing website. I had free credits for 50 prints, so I decided to make her Thank You cards as well.
Purchasing licensed party supplies can get really expensive, so I decided to have a Minnie Cake, a few Minnie Balloons, and the invitations and thank yous to have Minnie on them. Everything else is going to be hot pink and black – such as the tableware, cutlery, and filler balloons.
It feels like it was yesterday that I was celebrating her 1st birthday and only last week that she was born. Time goes by too quick!
