I know I’ve mentioned before that I became aware of chemicals in baby products when I was pregnant, but what I didn’t delve into was the company that opened my eyes to this information. Let me start from the beginning- before I was a teacher, a friend asked me to take a ride with her where we would listen to a discussion on safer beauty products. It was enlightening. I learned about the dangers of mineral oil and how it creates a barrier on your skin, preventing products like moisturizers to be effective. I learned about parabens, pthalates, and petrochemicals. I learned that Arbonne was a new wave of the future, and people were becoming more aware of what they put in and on their bodies.
I didn’t immediately sign up to be a consultant at that time, but I was briefly involved with Arbonne. I didn’t preach the benefits Arbonne had to offer, I didn’t have to. The products spoke for themselves with the ingredients they contained. Life got busy and Arbonne was put on the back burner until I recently read how Arbonne’s baby sunscreen ranked high with the Environmental Working Group. I needed a sunscreen that didn’t leave a cakey residue on my kids but was effective and safe. The large bottle of baby sunscreen offered by Arbonne is perfect for our family because we go through a lot of sunscreen. No stinging eyes, no itchy skin, no white residue. I love this stuff!
Along with baby sunscreen, I tried out another 3 products from the Arbonne Baby Care line. The ABC Arbonne Baby Care diaper rash cream lives in our diaper caddie. I only use it when I see my son’s skin start to flare up and by the next diaper change the redness dissipates. I haven’t tried it for more extreme diaper rashes because he hasn’t had one that bad, but so far I’m happy with the results I’ve seen on minor rashes.
The Arbonne Baby Care body lotion has a light, non-greasy feel to it. The unscented formula has worked wonders on my 6 year old’s dry hands. She keeps it by her bed and applies it every night. According to her, her hands aren’t itchy anymore and her dry skin patches have disappeared. I’m pretty happy about that, and so is she. I would love for Arbonne to create the Baby Care Body Lotion with a slight fragrance (EWG approved, of course) because I feel that although it’s unscented, there’s still a slight odor. A more pleasant aroma would be nice.
The Arbonne Baby Care Hair & Body Wash is similar to the body lotion in scent. Unscented, it leaves you wanting more fragrance, but it gets the job done without harmful chemicals. My kids are clean from head to toe as we wash away the school day’s germs. The best part about the Arbonne Baby Care line is that I can use the products on all my kids from age 6 down to 1. The tear free, skin soothing formulas are appropriate for all their skin types.
