The 16th annual National Woman’s Health Week kicks off on Mother’s Day and is a great reminder for women to take a step back and take a time out for themselves. There are small steps that can be taken to get women on the path to a healthier lifestyle and overall wellbeing.
7 steps to a healthier you
1- Do something once a week that’s just for you. Take a yoga class, head to the gym, or just take a walk with a friend to clear your mind. It’s amazing what just one hour a week on yourself can do!
2- Get enough sleep. This is almost a joke for moms with younger kids, but establishing a good sleep routine for the whole family can keep everyone happier and well rested for anything the day throws at you
3- Eat breakfast. It’s your first chance at tackling the day, so make sure you are properly fueled
4- Take care of your teeth! A healthy mouth is key to a healthy body. Small changes like switching to a Colgate Total regimen with Colgate Total’s New Gum Health Mouthwash can provide advanced gum protection for 45% stronger, healthier gums.
5- Get outside! People are generally happier when the sun is out and they can get fresh air. Don’t forget the sunscreen!
6- Play with the kids! Don’t be afraid to get dirty and plant a garden or make cookies with them. These life experiences mean so much to them, and you will be happy the whole family is taking a break from electronics.
7- Drink water! Hydrated bodies are happy bodies!
To kickoff a healthy regimen, Colgate is providing one lucky reader with a Wellness Prize Pack which includes the items shown below:
