Blast! product for this post has been provided by AtGames and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.
We are a family of gamers who try to keep up with the ever-changing technology and gaming styles. My husband and I come from a generation of 8-bit gaming and while we love the newer, brighter, and more detailed graphics of today’s games, we both agree we get a sense of nostalgia from playing video games we started off with decades ago.
In a world where everything is at our fingertips, it’s easy to get your hands on just about anything, including video games you thought were lost to the ages. Game nights can now be ‘Flashback Fridays’ while playing AtGames Blast! This classic arcade game features 8 of your favorite Atari classic games with a simple HDMI plug and play in a low-cost package that retails at just $19.99. This is a great price point for a stocking stuffer for the retro-gamer in your life. Blast! allows you to play, save, load, and rewind games, which are way more options than we had growing up with Atari. I remember leaving the game system on with the tv off during dinner time because my progress wasn’t stored, or begging my mom for a few more minutes because “I’ve never gotten this far before!” Remember that? Apparently, that was a famous line of mine because I’m still reminded of it to this day! With the ability to save your progress, our “old” games have proven themselves to have caught up with the times.
Although my kids started off with more difficult games as their first gaming experiences, I think Blast is a great way to ease little ones into gaming with simpler games that don’t require much skill or gaming knowledge. Blast features Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga, Galaxian, Mappy, Sky Kid, Tower of Druaga, and Xevious. Which titles do you remember playing from this lineup? My husband remembers them all, but I only remember 3 of them, with Pac-Man being a timeless classic.
The best party about Blast! is portability. It easily connects with the included HDMI wire, so the kids can bring it to Grandma’s house and hook it up to the TV. It is powered with a USB cable and includes one controller. Blast! is available at major retailers, including Walmart, Target, Walgreens and CVS.
We loved Blast! so much, we are including it in our Holiday Gift Guide as a top choice for children and adults! My husband and I both enjoy sharing the classics with our kids, and Blast! is a great way to introduce little ones to the gaming world.
