I’ve been in denial for the past few months about my tooth sensitivity. I like to think it doesn’t exist merely because I like to think I have good oral habits, I don’t smoke, I brush well, and my bi-annual dental visits show no signs of cavities. So, what’s the problem!? It turns out, sensitive teeth can occur from other factors and may be a sign of [gulp] aging, recessed gums, and other reasons your dentist can explain to you. Toothpastes that boast relief for sensitive teeth have worked for me in the past, but it was a temporary fix that eventually stopped working. Maybe I needed to try something new…
After you speak with your dentist to figure out the root of your sensitivity and make sure it isn’t something more serious, like a cavity, you can head over to your local drug store and pick up a tube of sensitive toothpaste. This will take a few weeks to start working, provided you use it twice a day. If you don’t want to wait that long for relief, then you can opt for Crest Sensi-Stop Strips instead. You can have relief in as little as 10 minutes. Just place a strip on the 1-2 teeth that are sensitive and plop yourself in front of the computer and scroll through your Facebook feed. By the time you have caught up on all your current events, the strip is ready to come off and relief should be immediate. Go ahead- drink that hot coffee, cold ice cream, or lick a lollipop. Whatever your trigger is, your pain should be minimized, if not gone all together!
Personally, my issue is cold beverages. But man, do I love my ice water! My two bottom teeth hate ice water and I opt for a straw when I drink to completely bypass those teeth. Crest Sensi-Stop Strips uses the same ingredient dentists use to seal small passage ways that lead to nerve endings. Crest Sensi-Stop Strips are Crests best kept secret! You will have to wait until September 2014 to get your hands on a box, which comes in 6, 10, or 12 count. You can preorder at Crest.
This is unique and I would love to try it. I have sensitive teeth so perfect for me.
I have sensitive teeth too. I have found some toothpastes to cause my teeth to feel more sensitive with all the whitening in them. I recommend that you look for a toothpaste without whitening in it. It really helped me to find a toothpaste that is mild. I have never heard of these strips. I would like to try them.
I have sensitive teeth and would love to try this
My husband has been complaining about sensitive teeth lately. I think I will try to find this for him on my next shopping trip.
