Valentine’s Day is traditionally a romantic day for couples to celebrate, go out on a date, have a drink, buy flowers, and eat chocolate. Once you have kids, your Valentine’s traditions may change- like my first Valentine’s Day as a new mom. My husband and I decided to stay home and make a surf and turf dinner with steak and lobster while my little one sat next to us at the dinner table. It was the beginning of a new era of life for us and hasn’t changed much since that time, although we’ve added two more kids to the mix!
My girls come home from school declaring my husband and I are their Valentines the minute their teachers start talking about making cards and crafts. I love to reciprocate the gesture because it really is adorable and they are only this young for a short time. I’m sure in the coming years I will stop being their valentine, so I’m enjoying every minute of it.
I don’t go overboard for Valentine’s Day, just a little something to say “I love you” like their favorite character pajamas, a small toy or activity, and maybe a tasty treat. Check out my preschooler unboxing some great ideas from Peppa Pig- just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Peppa Pig pajamas– my preschooler will love going to sleep in Peppa Pig pajamas! These are lightweight and perfect for late winter-early spring.
Activity tin from Parragon
I love bringing these little activity tins with us on road trips or restaurant outings.
My oldest can now read on her own and loves to explore books that feature characters she sees on tv, while my preschooler loves to be read to and is just showing an interest in wanting to learn how to read. This book is great for both girls as one can read to the other.
What’s Valentine’s Day without a little sweet treat? Peppa Pig themed treats are sure to make your little one squeal with delight!
