Disney had a pretty great year in terms of movies. They came out with sequels that both kids and their parents would enjoy watching on family movies nights. Finding Dory made its way to BluRay/DVD and Digital Copy this past week. I remember watching Finding Nemo over a decade ago, so to see Finding Dory with my daughters brought everything full circle.
Finding Dory takes us back to when Dory was a young fish. We always knew she had memory issues but never knew the full story. This heartwarming story takes us on an adventure to find out where it all began, and take her back to her parents who never stopped looking for her.
Alice through the Looking Glass was a little different for me than for my daughter. I remember and appreciate the animated version from when I was a little girl, but my daughter was excited to see the latest Alice which was similar in graphics to Alice in Wonderland from a few years ago. She loves the music and the excitement the movie offered, as well as the interesting characters and their stories.
Pete’s Dragon is another old favorite. I remember my mother reading the book to me when I was young. This was one I wish we had seen in the theaters, but we had a full schedule at that time. Now we can watch Pete’s Dragon in the comfort of our home during movie night to follow the story of a boy who befriends a magical dragon he meets in his travels.
The Big Friendly Giant (The BFG) is a new title adapted from Roald Dahl’s tale of childhood, the magic of dreams and the extraordinary friendship between a young girl and a big friendly giant. I’m pretty excited about this one, especially since I didn’t have a chance to see it in theaters. It sounds like something my girls would love to watch and may be able to relate to.
This holiday season consider Disney Movies as stocking stuffers. While my husband prefers DVDs and BluRay copies, I love the convenience digital copies offer when we are on the go. You also don’t have to worry about a damaged copy when it comes to digital!
