Just yesterday my little girl called me into the foyer where her craft table is and said, “Mommy, I colored the giraffe!” She was referring to the giraffe which was hand painted on her wooden craft table. Good thing I have a plastic cover over it that is washable, so there was no actual damage done to the table. It is not uncommon that children want to explore their artistic abilities and take the crayons or markers off the paper and on to other surfaces. My niece has a beautiful hand-colored mural on her bedroom wall that my nephew, who is only 2, drew for her. If you have a 2 year old, then you know just how artistic they are, and you can imagine the look of that mural!
I think that natural curiosity that children posses are what make them experiment with crayons throughout the house, and not necessarily deviance. Once I told my toddler that we do not color on the table, we only color in books or on paper, she instructed her stuffed animals, who also color with her, to do the same.
The Fisher Price Doodle Bear provides children that outlet to experiment with markers on a totally different surface than what they are use to! The Doodle Bear comes with four colors and a stencil which you can use to color the entire bear. The markers are double sided – which include a standard marker tip on one side and a stamper on the other. Once your little artist runs out of room, you can just toss the Doddle Bear in the washing machine and you have a clean canvas to work with again. My toddler LOVES her Doodle Bear and we usually bring it along with us for long car rides or grandma’s house. It keeps her busy and is perfect for on the go.
The Fisher Price Doodle Bear retails for $19.99 and comes in three colors – Pink, Blue, and Purple and can be purchased from Fisher Price, Toys R Us, Kmart, and Amazon. You can connect with Fisher Price on Facebook to stay updated on their latest news!
