This holiday season there are a ton of toys on my oldest daughter’s wish list. I don’t know a child in her age group that would ask for anything but toys, and even though we love to keep the fun in the holidays, I also want to give her something that can enhance her skills. She is very crafty and works well with her hands, so I would love to introduce sewing to her someday soon. Growing up, my mother and grandmother set up a great foundation for learning how to sew with free embroidery designs at a young age. As I got older, I was able to use my basic skills to go on and take sewing classes and better my skills later on in life. To this day, sewing and knitting is a hobby, and although you won’t see me making scarves anytime soon, I have the skills to make them if I wanted to.
Knitting is a great way to unwind at the end of the day and the pay off is rewarding. The Sewing Kit from Moulin Roty is not a typical toy. Actually, it’s not a toy at all, but it has all the tools necessary to get your budding knitter started. Included in the kit is five colors of knitting wool, thread, scissors, knitting needles, a crochet hook, a cross-stitch pattern, tape measure, buttons, and a mushroom-shaped knitting dolly for making shoelaces. Everything comes in a vintage-inspired case with a metal handle for easy storage and transportation. The kit retails for $63 and can be purchased at NormanandJules.com
This is a charming set any child who has a passion for crafting will love. It has made our holiday gift guide this year!
This kit is so cute! My daughter is a little too young but I think in a couple of years she’d love this.
Oh my gosh! This is too cute! My daughter has been trying to learn to sew and knit, she would get the biggest kick out of this! I may have to up my Christmas budget to include one more gift. 🙂
Adorable. My almost 7 year old daughter wants a sewing kit, but knitting may be a great way to start!
