About a year after I had my first baby, I knew I had to join a mommy group. I wanted to make friends for my daughter and also for myself. Finding moms who had a lot in common with me, mainly having toddlers, was important. I searched online through local Meetup groups but wasn’t finding what I was looking for. Then, I met a mom at a park who had toddlers and after we started talking she told me about her Meetup group. After joining, I got to meet other moms, set up play dates, and attend child-friendly events with a group of moms who had a lot in common with me. It was a great group which hosted events for the kids and moms, while also providing support for each other when we needed it.
Have you heard of the latest mommy night out movie that you must see? The Single Moms Club is a movie releasing on March 14 about the struggles five women face as single moms yet seek support and camaraderie in each other. As each woman embarks on her journey she finds solace in her friends.
After watching the trailer for the movie I definitely think this is something I would watch with my friends. I may not be a single mom, but I do believe that as moms we each have our individual struggles. When we take time to seek out moms who have something in common with us, it makes the struggle more bearable. Parenting is hard enough, but when you add personal issues into the mix, then you need to take a step back and take some time out for yourself. So, grab a glass of wine and have a girl’s night in with The Single Moms Club! Check out the trailer below:
You can follow the conversation by visiting The Single Moms Club on Facebook. The movie will be released on March 14, 2014.
