My little girl is getting into sports and she is having so much fun! She just started a karate/gymnastics class where she learns how to control her body movements and gain strength. It is a great program tailored specifically for children her age who are not ready for karate. She asks to go back each time we leave, so I know she is having fun. This is the most important factor for me- she HAS to have fun. Once specific sports are no longer fun for her, I won’t push her to do them.

Along with gymnastics, she is also signed up for swimming lessons. She has only taken one class so far and hasn’t made it back because I was a little busy having another baby. Now that life with a newborn has settles down, she will be resuming swimming lessons next week. She’s a natural in the water and really enjoys playing and splashing. What kid doesn’t?

 

I didn’t realize when I signed her up for sports that she would need specific gear to go along with her new hobbies. I figured anything she needed would be provided, but I was totally wrong. My little one picks her favorites based on style, whereas I choose my favorites based on functionality.
