Disclosure: My family received a Bumblebee themed gift pack in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.
I clearly remember sneaking into my brother’s room when we were kids to play with his Transformers. I didn’t know their names, but I remember the blue and yellow transformers being my favorite at that time. Fast forward decades later and I have a little boy of my own who not only loves Tranformers toys, but couldn’t wait to see the action packed movie with his father when it came out.
Bumblebee (the aptly named “yellow” transformer has quite a history. Before he was part of the Transformers, her was sent to Earth from Cybertron to protect the Earth from Deceptacons. While hiding on Earth, he’s discovered by a teenage girl, Charlie Watson who received a 1967 yellow Volkswagon Beetle as a gift. Her gift was a surprise in many ways, the biggest one being that her car was a Transformer in disguise! She nicknamed her new bud “Bumblebee” and their adventures together started. Bumblebee takes place in 1987, which is appropriately timed for when Transformers really made it big.
Along with the movie, my family received the latest Bumblebee themed toys to kickoff the spring season. My son is ecstatic about the moving Bumblebee Transformer and can’t wait for his Transformer’s themed birthday party!
