For one, gussets. I’ve said it before, a diaper is not a diaper if it doesn’t have gussets. Let’s take a look at disposables. They all have gussets, whether you are looking at higher end, more expensive diapers or cheap store brand diapers. They ALL have them; why? Gussets keep the contents of the diaper where they are suppose to be – INSIDE the diaper! Why should cloth diapers be any different? Gussets are necessary and should not be excluded from the cloth diaper. The Champ has dual gussets to keep messes where they belong! If you have used pocket diapers then you know all about the clean up. After your baby is done soiling the diaper, you have to reach into the pocket and pull out the liner to make sure it gets clean in the wash. GROSS. I know I know – a true cloth diaper veteran probably doesn’t mind this step, but I do. I even tried to skip this step a few times only to find the insert all bunched up and still dirty within the diaper. The Champ has two openings for the pocket, which means it comes out all by itself in the wash! Yes, it really does! I have tried this many times with my other Champ and it ALWAYS works! This is a great feature for those reluctant dads who refuse to stick their hand in the soiled pocket! Now, let’s not forget one great reason to cloth diaper – FUN patterns! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that I can coordinate cloth diapers with outfits, especially with a little girl who wears dresses! Go Green offers fun styles and patterns to suit your every occasion or mood! Let’s not forget that Go Green pocket diapers are ONE SIZE diapers which means they accomodate babies from a few weeks old to a few years old! While I don’t think a newborn can really fit comfortably in these diapers, I do love that these diapers can be used for quite some time, making them worth every penny! After using cloth for a while I realized that I prefer velcro over snaps. I feel it is easier to adjust velcro to fit baby properly, plus is it easier when grandma is babysitting and she doesn’t want to be bothered with snaps. Go Green has their own Adapt a Snap which converts any of their snap diapers to velcro in one easy step! Lol on alva website the colorsnap or 4.0 are like $6.99 only thing they have fewer prints but will be coming out with more.
