Finding the perfect baby food among the sea of jarred foods is difficult, especially when you take into account the pesticides and chemicals that go into your baby’s meals, plus the packaging hazard of glass jarred foods.
Despite working as a teacher full time, taking grad classes, and exclusively breastfeeding my infant, I decided to make her homemade baby food. I know – you must be thinking – with all she had to do, and with all the options of baby food.. WHY ON EARTH WOULD SHE DO THAT?!? Well, my decision was simple – there were no preservatives in homemade food. Even your favorite jarred organic baby food has preservatives in some of favorite purees. Think about it – bananas will turn brown under normal conditions – what keeps it yellow (or actually PINK) in those jars?
When my little girl started eating baby snacks, I decided to go with Happy Baby Puffs as opposed to other brands for a few reasons:
They came in interesting flavors. I preferred the Green Puffs with Spinach and Collard Greens. My little girl has many years of sweets ahead of her. Did you know that children are less likely to eat green veggies because of the color? Knowing this, I wanted to make sure my little girl had a solid palate for her greens before I introduced other veggies. To be totally honest, the Green Puffs didn’t taste much like Spinach, but I knew she was getting some nutrition out of these puffs!
Being that my little girl didn’t have much jarred foods, she has no taste for them. I tried giving her jarred foods when we were out, but she opted to go hungry until we got home on many occasions just to avoid the contents within the jar. I didn’t know about Happy Baby pouches until recently. When I received a sample of Spinach Mango Pear, I gave it to my daughter and she took a few sips and gave it back to me. I wasn’t totally surprised, so I closed it up and placed it in the fridge. The very next day she saw a picture on Amazon of Happy Baby pouched foods and said “I want this.” I gave her the chilled fruit puree and she finished it with no issues! I know that these pouches are intended as baby food for infants, but they are great for on the go self feeding toddlers. My little girl prefers them to be chilled before she eats them. I love them because they are portable, unbreakable, chemical and free and organic!
Happy Baby has a wide variety of baby foods that you can find in the baby food section of your local grocery store or baby shop. They also have a line of frozen foods. You can connect with Happy Baby on Facebook and Twitter to stay updated on their latest news.
Disclosure: I received samples to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.

These organic puffs seem like a great idea. There is nothing better than providing a snack for your child that is healthy and doesn’t contain extra junk
