I love my smart phone, but I really don't like that I'm stuck in a contract. Oh, and the $150 bill each month for a family plan isn't going over too well with my budget either, so it's time to start thinking of better ways to obtain cell phone service. I mainly use my cell phone for texting, reading emails, and the occasional phone call- I'm not big on talking on the phone. Another feature I recently started looking into was a mobile hotspot. Now that my family is going to the beach house every weekend, I need a way to work- there is NO internet service out there and a hotspot is definitely the way to go. The only problem is that with my current plan, I would be spending an additional $70 a month on that, and that just doesn't work for me.
I've been hearing a lot about Boost Mobile and their $40 plans, but I was always afraid of "the catch." What do you mean I can get an unlimited plan of talk, text, and web for only $40 a month? Oh, and without a contract? That's IMPOSSIBLE! Or is it?
Boost Mobile offers Sprint's service and even has a great loyalty plan by offering shrinkiif you pay your bill on time for 6 months in a row, you get $5 off your recurring payments for a maximum of $15 savings! You must be wondering what kind of phone you will get with this awesome package: maybe a phone from the 90s with that famous Nokia ringtone? Perhaps a flip phone that only allows you to make and receive calls. Well, the answer is you can get the latest in cell phone technology with a 4G smartphone. You can stream, record video, and download email, all without sacrificing data speeds.
I had the opportunity to check out the HTC Evo Design 4G and I was impressed by the phone itself. For a smart phone, it is very lightweight and thin, yet it packs a punch with full features and customizing options. I loved the phone and the plan seemed great, so I called up Boost Mobile to see how much a hotspot would be. They told me it would only be an additional $10 a month! That's a great deal when compared to my current cell phone plan. So now, my hubby and I are considering the move to Boost Mobile.
Do you have Boost Mobile? What do you think of your current cell plan?
We have ATT and we love it have been with them for over 8 years, my bill however is a good 230 (with four cellphones and two of them smartphones)
We just switched from Verizon to Page Plus, and our bill went from $112 to $42!!

We pay about 150 a month for 2 iphones with unlimited data, but we would definitely consider switching to save!
We pay about 170 for our two iPhones…but that’s with a 24% discount through hubby’s work. If boost had an iPhone I would definitely consider switching.
wow, i guess i’m lucky my work pays for my blackberry. But my husband lost his phone and we need a new one. I will def. look into Boost Mobile – $40/month is right about what we can afford to pay.

We pay almost $200 each month for 4 phones, but my husband gets supplemented $85 for his phone through work. I had Boost mobile and loved it and I am tempted to go back to it because I rarely use my phone.
We have verizon and pay around $145 for 2 phones with unlimited data. I hate that we pay so much but we don’t have a home phone and we use are phones a ton so the unlimited data is a must! Does Boost have the unlimited data or are there limits?
I do not have boost mobile. We have a plan grandfathered under Cingular now ATT and we do not have a contract with anyone….we pay monthly and have the same low cost plan with great roll over minutes
I quit paying tons of money every month for cell phone service over 2 years ago. I don’t need a smart phone since I use my Kindle Fire for anything that I would use a smartphone for. I now have Straight Talk and I pay $33/mo for talk, text and web.
I have verizon and pay $65/month for unlimited data. I don’t mind it except for when I lose service for no apparent reason.
we’re AT&T and it’s also around $150. hate it, but can’t really do without it!
My contract is up soon, been thinking of switching, thanks for the information!
I only pay $2 a month for unlimited web, text and 300 minutes with Virgin mobile. I love them.
I have a prepaid cell phone and we pay $79 a year. We rarely use the phone and save it for emergencies.
We have T-Mobile with unlimited talk, text and web for $112 per month (for me and hubby, tax included!)
We have Sprint right now and still have another year before we can switch but I will have to look into this because our bills are a little over $250/month for 4 lines! We are wanting something else but are weary about the service and actual UNLIMITED usage! I know all the other major carriers are out because they don’t offer unlimited intenet for a reasonable price.
AT&T here, and about $120 a month for 2 phones, unlimited minutes.
We pay almost $200 for 4 phones….
We pay about $200 for 3 phones with sprint. I’m not thrilled with their service, but it is what it is.
I don’t remember the exact amount we pay, but it feels like it’s a TON!
