Just recently, I found out that some orange juices are made from oranges that are imported from Brazil. This seemed odd to me, because I always thought that orange juice came from Florida. Do you remember that commercial where the woman sticks her hand in the back of her grocers refrigerator and “picks” a container of fresh orange juice directly from a Florida grove? Well, THAT’S the image I have in my mind when it comes to orange juice: freshly squeezed from a FLORIDA grove! So, ever since discovering that many companies throw in oranges from other countries, I have made a conscious effort to read the label and choose orange juices that only use oranges from Florida. I always had a couple of favorite orange juice brands because I noticed a different taste among the various options out there- I just never knew that the difference in the taste may have had something to do with where the oranges came from. My hubby doesn’t even care- he doesn’t notice a difference, food is food, juice is juice- it doesn’t matter where it comes from. You can say I’m picky when it comes to food! Another thing I don’t want in my juice: water or added sugar. If I wanted a cocktail, I would have a salted glass and a spirit added to my juice, so unless you are offering me a margarita, I would prefer my glass is fill with 100% juice and nothing else.
Now, you might wonder what Ice Age (the movie) and 100% Natural Florida’s Orange Juice have in common. Nothing. But I can tell you that I am super excited about Ice Age 4 coming to theaters! My toddler had her first theater experience a few weeks ago and can’t wait to go back. Now that I know she can sit through most of a movie, I plan on taking her to see Ice Age 4 on July 13. Our favorite Ice Age movie is the first one, and we have watched it about 60 times in the past few months. I love children’s movies that incorporate some adult humor because it makes it so much more interesting when you watch it with the kids.
This past Saturday we had a “vege out day.” It was the first weekend that we had nothing to do and we decided there was really no reason to get out of bed and get dressed. So we spent the entire morning watching Saturday morning cartoons in bed. By noon it was time to eat brunch. Yummy pancakes and of course, an ice cold glass of orange juice. We started flipping through the channels and guess what’s on? Ice Age on HBO! Do your kiddos love the Ice Age movies? Don’t forget, July 13- mark it in your calendar, Ice Age 4 is coming to a theater near you! Oh, and keep your family hydrated this summer. Pick up some 100% Natural Florida Orange Juice!
