I’m very excited to announce that I am a Chicago Cutlery Ambassador! Once upon a time ago I was a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher where I also taught middle schoolers how to bake and cook. I truly enjoyed my job, but I was in no way a “professional.” I had the skills necessary to teach students the basics about nutrition and kitchen basics. Knife skills were a big part of our cooking unit and while I was creating lesson plans for them, I learned a lot about the importance of quality kitchen utensils in the meantime.
My first experience with great knives was when I got married. My mom got me a beautiful butcher block of what were suppose to be professional grade knives, suitable for just about any job in the kitchen. I was disappointed a few months later when my knives dulled and even rusted. Stainless steel knives are not suppose to rust, while dulling is quite common and can be corrected with a honing tool.
Preparing meals for my family is something I put a lot of value in. Dinnertime at the family table is just as important as enjoying the meal placed on the table. Having the proper tools in the kitchen is an essential part of that special meal. I watch the cooking channel every chance I get, you know, when the TV isn’t on Nick Jr. or Disney Jr., and I often look into the items I see on the shows- such as their mixing bowls, baking dishes, and yes, even their knives. I would always wonder why the cooks’ knife strokes were so effortless and sharp enough to tackle even the hardest yam on their cutting board. If you have every tried to chop a fresh yam in half with the wrong knife, then you know exactly what I’m talking about! I soon learned that with the right knife, anything is possible!
In the next few weeks I will be sharing my views on Chicago Cutlery and even a quick demonstration on how to use the knives. Stay tuned! In the meantime, you can check out Chicago Cutlery on Amazon to view all the various types of knives in their collection.
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a Brand Ambassador Campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Chicago Cutlery and received products to facilitate my post and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
Congratulations! How fun.
Congrats on your Ambassadorship!
Congratulations! how exciting!
Congrats! We have a few CC steak knives and a large knife that work very well. I’ve found that putting them in the dishwasher really makes them dull faster and rust. Now we wash all knives by hand.
